Knapp was born Jacob Richard Knapp on May 31, 1994, in Newport Beach, California, to his parents who are Jennifer and Robert Knapp. He has an older brother, Ryan. He chose UCLA for its “great education, team and also because it’s close to home” so that he will be able to go to training early.
