Good Counsel, Archbishop Spalding girls lacrosse lead midseason Top 10
This year has not gone how St. Stephen’s/St. Agnes Coach Kathy Jenkins envisioned.
After losing in the Independent School League championship game last year, her squad entered this season with high hopes behind twins Harper and Laney Jensen. The latter led the Saints in scoring last season and was an All-Met honorable mention.
However, both have missed the entirety of this season with injuries. Laney tore her ACL in January, and Harper broke her clavicle in February. Fellow sophomores have stepped up in their stead.
Summer Bickley, Chloe Lambert and Lillian Israel have provided St. Stephen’s/St. Agnes with offense while Meg Adams, Tatum Spencer and Paige Zadareky help on defense.
“It’s a real team. It’s not one girl doing it all. It’s a whole group of girls doing well together,” Jenkins said. “And the defense has really come together as a team. They’re communicating better, they’re sliding, and again it’s mostly younger girls. Really proud of how they’ve come together.”

The Saints slot in at No. 8 in The Washington Post’s midseason rankings; they’re one of four ISL teams in the top 10. Stone Ridge, the defending AA tournament champion, leads the way but will have to fight off a feisty set of contenders to repeat.
